Elephant Management and Care Scholarship

 

The Elephant Care and Management Scholarship promotes professional training for elephant managers in Latin America and the Caribbean Basin. The two-year scholarship allows the recipient to participate in the Association of Zoos & Aquarium’s (AZA) Principles of Elephant Management I & II professional training program courses. While attending the course, the scholarship recipient will receive the latest information and training available in the field of elephant management and conservation. Likewise, the individual will have an opportunity to share professional experiences and establish working partnerships with their North American counterparts. 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. Applicants must be employees or associates of Latin American zoological institutions or related facilities and have prior experience with elephant management and care.  The applicant's work institution must care for elephants in their animal collection.

  2. Applicants must possess a functional proficiency in English.
